SJRV provides an 18-month voluntary warranty against defects for products sold by SJRV, beginning from the date of delivery.
This voluntary warranty operates in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Any additional or longer manufacturer warranty stated in the relevant product documentation operates separately and in addition to the SJRV warranty and your statutory rights.
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
Depending on the circumstances, if a product fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, refund or other remedy available under the Australian Consumer Law.
These rights apply independently of, and may continue beyond, SJRV's 18-month voluntary warranty period.
What the SJRV Voluntary Warranty Generally Covers
SJRV's 18-month voluntary warranty generally covers defects in materials or manufacture that arise during normal and intended use within the warranty period.
What a Voluntary Warranty May Not Cover
Subject always to the Australian Consumer Law, a voluntary warranty may not cover:
- normal wear and tear or consumable parts;
- accidental, impact, environmental or transport damage occurring after delivery;
- misuse, abuse, neglect, inadequate maintenance or incorrect storage;
- incorrect or unsuitable installation, wiring or power supply;
- installation contrary to instructions or applicable requirements;
- unauthorised alteration, repair or modification;
- use outside the product’s intended purpose, limits or specifications; or
- damage caused by another product, component, vehicle or third party.
Installation
Products must be installed in accordance with manufacturer instructions and applicable standards. Where appropriate, use a suitably qualified or experienced installer. Before permanently cutting, drilling, fitting, sealing or wiring, the customer and installer must confirm the product, dimensions, orientation and specifications. If you believe a failure is due to a product or manufacturing defect rather than installation, contact us for assessment.
Making a Claim
Email support@sjrv.com.au with your name and contact details, order number or proof of purchase, product name or SKU, a description of the problem, photographs or video, and relevant installation or usage information. We may request further information or inspection where reasonably necessary.
Claim Costs and Remedies
For an initial assessment, the customer is responsible for supplying the requested photographs, video and installation information. Do not return a product until SJRV provides instructions. SJRV will bear reasonable return freight and other claim expenses where required under this voluntary warranty or the Australian Consumer Law. If SJRV asks the customer to incur an approved claim expense, the customer may request reimbursement by emailing the receipt and order number to sales@sjrv.com.au. Removal, reinstallation and other costs will depend on the circumstances and applicable law.
Consumer Guarantee Notice
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
